Clarisonic: One Month Overview

The Clarisonic is one of the most talked about and loved skincare products out on the market. I have held off for a long time on getting one even after reading review after review about how much good it did for people’s skin. I received the Clarisonic Mia 2 for Christmas and have been using it ever since. I will be doing a one month review and will follow up with a three month review in March.

Frequency

When I first started using my Clarisonic, I used it twice daily (morning and night) for about the first week. After the first week and up until now, I have been using it at night daily. I chose to use it in the evenings because it helps remove all of my foundation and in the mornings I do not experience really oily skin, so I do not feel the need for a deep cleansing.

Cleansers

The Clarisonic I received came in a set with 4 other samples, one of which was the Philosophy Purity Made Simple cleanser. Despite all of the love and hype this cleanser has received, I had never used it prior to receiving it as one of the samples. I have been using it regularly, but some days I use one of my most loved cleansers (you can read about them here) to see which work well with the Clarisonic. The Philosophy cleanser is gentle, does not dry out skin, foams nicely, and works well with the Clarisonic. However, I do not find that it does anything else that my CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser doesn't do. Overall it is a great cleanser if you are willing to spend extra. If not, the CeraVe option is also fabulous.

Overall Appearance of Skin

After one month of use I have noticed that my skin has an overall smoother texture. I used to have small bumps on my forehead that have seemed to go away since using the Clarisonic. The area I have the most breakouts is my jawline. There has been a decrease in breakouts, but I think that the medications I have been using have more of an effect on that since the problem is hormonal. Also, during these winter months I have been noticing less flaky skin. My skin still suffers from dryness; however, those little annoying flakes that can ruin a flawless foundation look have decreased significantly. The Clarisonic works very well at gently removing these dry patches. Just always be sure to follow up with a moisturizer! I am hoping in these next couple of months that I notice a decrease in blackheads around the nose area as well.

What cleansers do you recommend to use with the Clarisonic? In what way has this tool helped your skin? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great weekend,

Nicole
